Special meeting to be held on proposed budget, siting agreement

Three public hearings are slated to be held when the Henry County Board of Supervisors holds a special meeting on Monday, April 17.

The meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Summerlin Boardroom of the Henry County Administration Building, will include public hearings on the proposed school and county budget, which collectively totals $196,623,925.

Also included is setting a real estate tax rate of not more than $.555 per $100 assessed value, setting a personal property tax rate of not more than $1.55 per $100 assessed value, and setting the machinery and tools tax rate of not more than $1.55 per $100 assessed valuation.

The board will also accept public input on a proposed Siting Agreement between Henry County and Axton Solar, LLC.

A copy of the complete proposed agreement may be viewed in the County Administrator’s Office on Kings Mountain Road, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
