Tweedy reappointed to NCI Board

Lynchburg Mayor Treney Tweedy was reappointed to serve under Gov. Ralph Northam on the New College Institute Board on May 29.

Tweedy was previously appointed to the same position under former Gov. Terry McAuliffe.

Tweedy is a native citizen of Lynchburg. She grew up in Rivermont and is a graduate of E. C. Glass High School. Following graduation, she served as a Journalist in the United States Navy. After returning home, Treney graduated from Lynchburg College where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English.

She served six years on the Lynchburg City School Board as a District 3 representative and served two of those years as the Vice Chairman of the Lynchburg City School Board. Her career experience includes working for both public and private businesses, as well as higher education in the Lynchburg community.
