
The search was conducted at approximately 6:20 p.m. at 1849 Carver Road in Martinsville.
The investigation began after the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Martinsville Police Department received information about suspected drug activity in the area.
Investigators with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office VICE Division and Narcotics Interdiction Unit began investigating the reported activity. Investigators later developed evidence indicating that narcotics were being distributed from the residence, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office worked jointly with the Martinsville Police Department during the investigation and obtained a search warrant for the property.
Multiple individuals were located and detained when the SWAT Team and investigators arrived to execute the warrant.
Investigators seized a quantity of suspected cocaine and U.S. currency during the search.
Two individuals were arrested in connection with the investigation.
Keith Allen Brim, 41, was wanted by the City of Martinsville on two counts of probation violation and contempt of court.
Eugene Hairston Jr., 63, was wanted by the City of Martinsville on three counts of probation violation.
Sheriff Wayne Davis said the sheriff’s office will continue working with law enforcement partners to address illegal drug distribution.
“Those who choose to distribute illegal drugs in our communities should understand that we will continue working with our law enforcement partners to identify them and hold them accountable. Protecting the safety and well-being of our citizens and our communities remains one of our highest priorities,” Davis said.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Additional charges may be forthcoming as investigators complete their examination of the evidence seized.
The sheriff’s office thanked the Martinsville Police Department for its assistance and partnership and community members who report suspected criminal activity.
