The Dan River Basin Association (DRBA) has added an interactive bald eagle wingspan display to its Soaring Together summer campaign at the Philpott Lake Visitor Center.
The exhibit, located at 1058 Philpott Dam Road in Bassett, allows visitors to take photos with an eagle wingspan backdrop while learning about bald eagles and their role in the region. The display will remain open through Aug. 10.
Visitors also can explore the center’s wildlife exhibits and learn about the natural and cultural history of Philpott Lake. Purchases from the visitor center’s gift kiosk support DRBA’s environmental education programs.
According to the organization, those programs reach more than 10,000 youth and adults each year throughout the Dan River Basin, promoting watershed education and conservation.
