Halloween Party at Mountain Valley Artisan Barn in Axton. Costumes are required and prizes will be awarded. Door prizes, music and refreshments will also be available. This is a fundraiser for the Mountain Valley Artisan Barn. Call (276) 220-6591 for more information and to preregister. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Wednesday, November 11

Combined Memorial Day/Veteran’s Day service at HJDB Center by the Martinsville Henry County Veteran Service Organization. Guest speaker is Anthony Ybarra, 1SG. U.S. Army (Ret.) Everyone is welcome. Masks and physical distancing encouraged. Event starts at 5 p.m. 3289 Riverside Dr., Bassett.

Disability Rights and Resources Center: The Disability Rights & Resource Center, a 501 (3)c, will hold its annual board meeting at 21 Starling Avenue, Martinsville, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the conference room at the Virginia Museum of Natural History.
