The Martinsville-Henry County YMCA announced a $50,000 contribution from the Charity League of Martinsville and Henry County for the creation of a dedicated child care room in the new Lester Family YMCA facility.

In recognition of this gift, the space will be named “The Charity League Child Care Room.”
“For nearly 100 years, Charity League has worked to serve the needs of children in Martinsville and Henry County, and when Brad and his team presented us this opportunity, we felt it was a great fit to continue that mission for years to come,” Charity League President Ashley Taylor said. “We know both the YMCA’s facilities and staff create a safe space where children can grow, both physically and mentally, so they can create a lasting impact on our area.”
This partnership highlights the power of community collaboration in creating spaces that serve future generations and strengthen local families.
“The YMCA is excited to partner with the Charity League to help a dream become a reality with their gift of $50,000,” said CEO/Executive Officer Brad Kinkema of the YMCA. “Both the YMCA and the Charity League are about serving kids and youth, so this is a perfect partnership.
“Charity League’s investment in the naming of a childcare room will help ensure the new Lester Family YMCA becomes a reality, and we are all very grateful for their generous support.”
