The Stuart Town Council approved the development of a celebration station at the Dick & Willie caboose at its Wednesday, Sept. 16 meeting.
Council member Rebecca Adcock, who is also the executive director of the Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, said the station would be an aspect of a Virginia Department of Forestry (DOF) grant to improve the Mayo River Trail.
To promote outdoor education, Adcock said discussions have included creating an outdoor classroom area that residents and local groups could use.
