Virginia Farm Bureau Federation members will join thousands of other Farm Bureau producers from across the country as they discuss and adopt national agriculture-related policies during the American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention.

Eight VFBF voting delegates and eight VFBF women’s delegates will attend AFBF’s 107th consecutive annual convention Jan. 9-13 in Anaheim, California.

Delegates from Virginia are: VFBF President Scott Sink; VFBF Vice President Robert Mills; Amy Johnson of Bedford County; Stephanie Cornnell of Prince William/Fairfax County; Andy Neal of Tazewell County; Hunter Richardson of King & Queen County; Mack Smith, president of Rockbridge County Farm Bureau Inc.; and Antonio Taylor of Chesapeake.

Virginia’s voting delegates will discuss federal policies impacting the commonwealth’s farmers, while helping craft broader AFBF policies for 2025 that support farmer disaster relief, trade promotion to expand markets, reducing input costs and reducing regulatory red tape that impacts farmer affordability.

VFBF President Scott Sink said input from Virginia’s voting delegates on these issues is an important part of AFBF’s national policy development process.

That input also will come from eight VFBF women attending the Annual Meeting of AFB Women: Women’s Leadership Committee Chair Faye Hundley; committee member Carolyn Neal of Tazewell County; Priscilla Busic of Lee county; Kayla Lawrence of Frederick County; Candace Monaghan of Botetourt County; Cecilia Moyer of Amelia County; Melissa Tibbs of Bland County; and Kelsey Trainor of King George County.

In addition to policy development, participating farmers can attend workshops to enhance their leadership skills, expand business knowledge and gain insight into the trends and regulations impacting food and fiber production at home and abroad.

Additionally, they will have the opportunity to cheer on VFBF Young Farmers Program award winners, who will compete on the national stage.

Virginia’s Achievement Award winners are Clay and Paula Greene of Augusta County; Discussion Meet winner is Cheyenne Rhodes of Shenandoah County; and the Excellence in Agriculture Award winner is Dustin Francis of Halifax County.
