The Henry County Sheriff’s Narcotic Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on April 21 after observing a GMC SUV traveling southbound on U.S. 220. The vehicle was driven by Darol Meeks, who allegedly had multiple warrants for revocation of a suspended sentence, according to a release from authorities.
Deputies initiated the stop at the intersection of U.S. 220 and AL Philpott Highway, and made contact with Meeks and passengers Carol Morgan White and Mary Elizabeth Bine.
Meeks allegedly had $1,069 in U.S. currency, along with a digital scale and packaging materials commonly used in the distribution of illegal narcotics.
Deputies allege they also located multiple suspected narcotics inside the vehicle. Field testing indicated the presence of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and Benzylpiperazine.
Meeks, 50, is being held in the Henry County Adult Detention Center with no bond on charges that include three counts of probation Violation and one count each possession with the intent to sell schedule I/II Drug (Methamphetamine), possession with the intent to sell Schedule I/II Drug (Fentanyl), possession with the intent to sell Schedule I/II Drug (Benzylpiperazine)
White, 36, was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and Benzylpiperazine, and charged with possession of Schedule I/II rug (Methamphetamine), and possession of Schedule I/II Drug (Benzylpiperazine). She received a $2,000 secured bond.
Bein, 44, who was seated in the rear of the vehicle, was allegedly carrying a concealed firearm. She was charged with carrying a concealed weapon (firearm) and released on a $1,500.
