SkyBright Smile has relocated to a new location on East Market Street in Martinsville, celebrating its grand opening July 16 with an open house for community members to tour the facility and learn about its teeth-whitening services.
Owner Devan Smithwick-Lowe said she was overwhelmed by the community support she received during the event.
“I have been so emotional today because it’s surreal how many local people have reached out to me and how the community has rallied around me,” Smithwick-Lowe said. “There are so many people who have been a help and an asset to my community.”
Smithwick-Lowe said moving into the new location is a milestone for her business.
“It’s very significant to me because when I first opened up, I didn’t know my business would last two years,” she said.
She said she enjoys owning her own business and hopes it will benefit her family in the future.
“I’m not having to pay someone else, and it’s going to my kids in the future,” she said.
Smithwick-Lowe said she intentionally chose the new location because of its proximity to nearby dental offices.
“I can recommend dental offices to them,” she said, noting customers can schedule a dental cleaning before making an appointment for whitening services.
She said the business offers services at a range of price points, with sessions starting at $135.
“The services that we offer, we have a price point to match anybody’s needs,” she said.
Before an appointment, Smithwick-Lowe recommends clients stay hydrated.
“I tell everyone the day before they come, they need to drink at least five bottles of water. You need a full 24 hours for that to get into your system,” she said.
She also recommends using toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth before treatment.
Payment plans are available through Afterpay, Klarna and Affirm.
“We do free consultations. If you’re nervous, I’ve had people who’ve had reflux,” Smithwick-Lowe said.
She emphasized that the whitening process is noninvasive.
“I’m not a dentist. I don’t use any metal tools. Nothing here is invasive. The only thing you might have to do afterward is take ibuprofen and Tylenol,” she said.
