Samantha Sigmon will assume the role of assistant principal of GWCES.
Sigmon brings extensive experience in elementary education and literacy instruction, along with a deep commitment to supporting student achievement and academic growth.
During her career with Henry County Public Schools, she has served as both a fourthand fifth-grade teacher and, most recently, as a division reading specialist, working collaboratively with educators to strengthen reading instruction and student outcomes. She also brings educational leadership preparation from Radford University, further equipping her to support students, staff, and families in her new role.
“The strength of a school is found in the dedicated people who serve its students each day,” said Crystal Dixon, Principal of G.W. Carver Elementary School. “I am excited to welcome Samantha Sigmon to our leadership team and am confident that, together, we will continue to build upon our school’s tradition of excellence while fostering a culture of compassion, high expectations, and student success.”
Mrs. Sigmon, reflected on this new chapter, said, I am truly honored and excited to join the George Washington Carver Elementary family as assistant principal. I believe a positive school culture, collaboration, and high expectations create the foundation for student success, and I am eager to work alongside the Carver community to ensure every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their fullest potential. I am grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to begin this next chapter as a Trojan!”
