Martinsville City Public Schools has named LaSaundra Siddle assistant principal at Martinsville High School.
Siddle succeeds Robert Dalton, who was named interim principal at Albert Harris Elementary School earlier this year.
She brings more than 20 years of experience in education, including roles as an assistant principal, instructional leader, testing coordinator and Career and Technical Education teacher.
Most recently, Siddle served as assistant principal at Morehead High School in Rockingham County, North Carolina, where she oversaw credit recovery and at-risk programs, mentored new teachers, supervised testing and helped strengthen school operations and communication.
She previously served as assistant principal at Southeast College Prep Academy in Halifax County, North Carolina, where she led initiatives focused on school safety, restorative practices, teacher support, student achievement and Career and Technical Education.
Before moving into administration, Siddle spent 14 years teaching business education and coaching varsity athletics.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina Greensboro, a master’s degree from Duquesne University and a school administrator license from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
“I am excited to join the team at Martinsville High School,” Siddle said. “I look forward to being part of a school community that is committed to helping every student succeed, and to building strong relationships with our students, staff, families and community while creating an environment where everyone feels supported, challenged and empowered to reach their full potential.”
Superintendent Dr. Zebedee Talley Jr. said Siddle’s experience and leadership will benefit the school division.
