Starting Tuesday, May 26, a section of Virginia 930 (Dogwood Drive) will be closed to through traffic as work begins on a safety improvement project at the intersection of Virginia 930 (Dogwood Drive) and U.S. 58 in Henry County. This project includes widening Virginia 930 (Dogwood Drive) to add a new left turn lane onto eastbound U.S. 58 and the construction of a new right turn lane from westbound U.S. 58 onto Dogwood Drive.

During construction, Virginia 930 (Dogwood Drive) will be closed to through traffic from its intersection with U.S. 58 to Virginia 932 (Laurel Drive) over the summer. A signed detour will direct traffic around the closure using Virginia 1604 (Lakewood Trail) and Virginia 932 (Laurel Drive). Residents will still have access to their homes.

In addition, the right lane of westbound U.S. 58 will be closed from Honeycutt Drive to Dogwood Drive during the project.

Once school is back in session, daytime lane closures on this project will be limited to the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to accommodate school traffic.

Motorists are asked to pay attention to signs and electronic message boards.

The estimated date of completion is September 4, weather permitting.
