Several local officials and business owners attended a ribbon cutting to mark the opening of Chicken in the Basket. A revamp of the historic Fieldale restaurant, Chicken in the Basket is dedicated to serving classic southern favorites and a clucking good time. After the restaurant closed, the operators were determined to keep the traditions of the former Garfield’s alive by offering many of their menu favorites and a few new additions at an affordable price. Hours of operation are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
