Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis talked to media representatives from the scene in Ridgeway on Tuesday.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, in partnership with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), on July 1 began investigating the alleged manufacturing and distribution of child pornography at a home on Lakes Edge Drive in the Ridgeway community.

As a result of this joint effort, investigators executed a search warrant at the home. During the search, investigators located evidence allegedly related to the production of child sexually explicit material.

Ryan Michael Workman, 32, was charged with five counts of production of child sexually abusive material in connection with the incident.

Workman is currently held without bond at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.

“The exploitation of children is a serious and reprehensible crime. Our agency, along with our federal partners, is committed to identifying, investigating, and prosecuting those responsible for these acts to the fullest extent of the law,” authorities stated in a release.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is encouraged to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at (276) 638-8751 or submit anonymous tips through the Crimestoppers Program at 63-CRIME (632-7463). Crimestoppers offers rewards up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest.
