Piedmont Arts has again been named the Best Art Gallery in Southwest Virginia by the readers of Virginia Living. This marks the fifth year that the museum has won the first place title. Readers also voted Expressions, Lynwood Artists’ and Piedmont Arts’ annual open-entry art exhibit, third in the Art Event category.

“It is such an honor to be named Best Art Gallery again this year,” said Director of Exhibitions and Marketing Bernadette Moore. “A heartfelt thanks goes to our community and to everyone who voted for Piedmont Arts. It is really amazing to be recognized in such a way.”

Virginia Living’s ninth annual Best of Virginia issue will hit newsstands July 17. The statewide guide to all that is “best” in Virginia dining, shopping, and doing, Best of Virginia 2020 lists the more than 1,500 winners from the magazine’s Readers’ Survey, conducted in January. More than 54,000 people voted in 103 categories, covering the best in Living & Recreation, Food & Drink, Shopping, and Services across the state.

Piedmont Arts is a nonprofit art museum in Martinsville that inspires and engages the diverse Martinsville-Henry County community and surrounding areas through visual arts, performing arts and arts education. It is located at 215 Starling Avenue, Martinsville. Museum hours are Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
