‘Paint the Town Blue’ raises funds for voter engagement

More than 75 people attended the inaugural Paint the Town Blue Event on Saturday, May 31. The event, hosted by the Martinsville-Henry County Democrats, raised funds that will go towards voter education and registration, outreach, and attending local events.

Speakers included Lois Hairston, NAACP Martinsville-Henry County; Chuck Simpson, CWA and President of the Western VA Labor Federation; Melody Cartwright, candidate for VA House of Delegates, District 48; Alex Bastani, candidate for Lt. Governor; and Randy Rollins, former Secretary of Public Safety.
