Join the Dan River Basin Association’s Frist Saturday Outing for a 2-mile out-and-back paddle on Lake Reidsville from the boat launch. Participants will meet by 9 a.m. at Lake Reidsville boat launch parking lot at end of drive at 639 Water Works Road, Reidsville, N.C.
DRBA is celebrating the 250th Birthday of America, and you’re invited to enjoy the paddle by coming in patriotic dress and/or decorate your water craft in a patriotic theme, with decorations that can get wet and not deteriorate. These are optional suggestions and not a requirement.
There will be opportunity to answer USA 250 trivia questions for prizes. Participants are respectively requested that political statements be limited to tastefully celebrating this milestone birthday of our country.
Lake Reidsville is a 750-acre reservoir located in Rockingham County, North Carolina. Outing coordinator Wayne Kirkpatrick said, “Lake Reidsville is a perfect place for a relaxed paddle. The lake is bordered by dense foliage and the serpentine shoreline offers continuous opportunity to view wildlife.”
Dress in synthetic fabric, be prepared to get wet, and bring boat, paddles, and life jacket for each boater, snacks, and water. Participants are required to sign a waiver.
Outings of the Dan River Basin Association are free and open to the public.
