The Danville (VA) Chapter of The Links, Inc., presented a donation to Sovah Health during a May 22 ceremony in Martinsville.

The donation, amount undisclosed, is earmarked to be used for additional protective equipment.

The funds were given to express appreciation for the services provided by Sovah Health Frontline Healthcare Workers to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Representatives from the Danville (VA) Chapter of The Links, Inc., presented Sovah Health-Martinsville with a donation on May 22.

“I want to salute and thank our heroes–healthcare workers,” Links member and Martinsville resident Imogene Draper said at the presentation. “We couldn’t be here without you. You are definitely the center for healthcare here in Martinsville-Henry County.”

Five members of the chapter were present at the ceremony in Martinsville, while another 10 attended a ceremony held at the main Sovah branch in Danville.

The Links, Incorporated, is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership includes nearly 14,000 professional women of color in 282 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. The organization is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
