The Rives S. Brown, Inc. Board of Directors is pleased to announce the fifth generation of leadership with the unanimous appointment of Rives Brown Coleman as President and managing broker who will assume daily operations at the company.

The Board looks forward to continuing to meet the real estate needs of families in the region and with Rives’s 26 years of experience, this will be a seamless transition that also maintains the Brown legacy for a fifth generation.

Rives is a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Martinsville and serves as a member on the following boards: Smith River Sports Complex, Blue Ridge Regional Library, and Arts at The Rives.  He served as the President of the Martinsville Henry & Patrick Counties Association of Realtors, Inc. from 1999 to 2000; graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1992; and graduated from the REALTOR®️ Institute (GRI) in 1998.  When Rives isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his wife Tiffany, daughters Claire Warner and Baylie on the soccer fields, and the family dog Floyd.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to lead Rives S. Brown, Realtors, Inc. following my Father and want to publicly thank him for his unwavering commitment to our family and community.  Because of his leadership I have the opportunity to carry out my great-grandfather’s legacy to invest in my hometown,” said Rives BrownColeman.

As President of Rives S. Brown, Realtors for 39 years, James “Nubby” Coleman is well known for his revitalization interests in the Martinsville/Henry County area. His leadership has been instrumental in continuing to enhance the areas that surround Forest Park, Druid Hills, Uptown Martinsville, and the forestry of the area near Lake Lanier.  James Coleman will continue his leadership roles with Browns, Inc. and Lanier Farm, Inc.

The fifth generation of the Brown family will continue the legacy of the founder’s dream to offer a community that extends beyond the brick and mortar.
