Magna Vista High School celebrated its 2025 graduates on May 24 in a morning ceremony. Several speakers reflected on the class’s accomplishments, including the struggles brought on by COVID-19. Student speakers focused on the future and emphasized the importance of community.

Chandler Molly addressed her classmates as the opening speaker.
“Wow, 2025, a number that stands out. Whether it’s on a speed limit sign that we may or may not obey, the number of alarms we set only to still be late for school, or the amount of times we refreshed Canvas, hoping that our teacher finally granted that assignment—a number that we know all too well as we cannot wait to hear that bell ring for dismissal at 3:25. But for us, 25 is not just a number. It’s the year of our graduation, a milestone marking it in the four years of challenges,” said Molly.
Molly referred to the time during COVID-19 when students lived life with masks.

“We spent half of our freshman year trying to sit next to our friends and the other half trying to read facial expressions when we could only see someone’s eyes.”
She went on to speak about the future, saying that the world will change a lot in the next 25 years.
“We are doctors, lawyers, educators, and astronauts. And you never know, we might be the future president.”
The next speaker, CeyAsia Waller, said, “We learn that success isn’t always about how everything is figured out. It’s about pushing through the tough times and celebrating small victories along the way.”
Waller reminded her fellow classmates to learn the power of community and to remember to support each other.

“That sense of community does not end today. As we step into the world, we must remember that we are not just individuals pursuing our own goals, but part of a larger network of people.”
Magna Vista High School Interim Principal Emily Taylor also addressed the class.
“Class of 2025, today marks your final day at your high school, surrounded by classmates, friends, family, teachers, and ministry. You are writing the last sentence of this chapter, and what is the story as you turn the page? Remember, this will always be home.
“I hope you see the gifts you carry, the ones we’ve all seen. To show up every day with heart and purpose. I hope you chase every dream, spoken or unspoken,” Taylor said. “I hope you always remember that you are loved, and that you matter. And most of all, I hope to never forget who you are and where you came from. We believe in you, we are proud of you, and we will miss you.”
