Lurenda Cox Mitchell, 75, of Horsepasture Price Road, Ridgeway, Virginia, died Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Moses Cone Hospital.
She was born in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Frank Cox and Lula Belle Clifton Cox. She was preceded in death by her husband Zeamore “ZA” Mitchell; brothers, Connis Cox and James “Chubbie” Cox; sister, Mary “Mae” Griffith. She attended God’s Mission Church and was last employed by Pannill Knitting. She enjoyed talking on the phone to her family and friends more than anyone could imagine.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by two sons, Jay Mitchell (Delta), Jody Mitchell; two granddaughters, Hannah and Brittney Mitchell; three brothers, Lonnie Cox, Granville Cox, and Henry Cox all of Ridgeway, Virginia.
The graveside funeral will be held Sunday, July 12, 2020, at 3:00 P. M. at Christian View Christian Church Cemetery on Anglin Mill Road, Stoneville, North Carolina. There will be a floating visitation at Wright Funeral Service Chapel on Saturday, July 11, 2020, from 1:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M., with the family being present from 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. and other times at the home of Jay and Delta Mitchell, 632 Fall Creek Road, Ridgeway, Virginia.
