Livy’s ice cream shop, located at 2824 Virginia Avenue in Collinsville, is adding a drive-thru option to continue accommodating its customers.
“We’ve all had days when a drive-thru is more convenient, and that’s one of the reasons why we’re doing it,” said owner Rodney Billings.
COVID-19 has not stopped business at the shop, with record-setting sales experienced this year, and the new drive-thru feature will allow it to continue that momentum.
“This drive-thru will be open for our offseason,” Billings said, and added that “most ice cream companies close, or they cut down, or have limited hours in the wintertime.”
With the drive-thru service at Livy’s “you don’t have to stand on the front porch anymore and be cold while waiting on your ice cream. All you have to do is come through the drive-thru,” Billings said.
The new addition is expected to be completed by the end of September.
“Just in time for our fall flavors to come in. That’s when the fall temperatures start arriving. The goal here is to keep you in the comfort of your warm car in a safe place while we can serve you,” Billings added.
Livy’s ice cream shop is open daily, 1 to 9 p.m.
