Best in Show by Cheryl Sterling of Patrick Springs, “A Walk in the Sand”

The 45th annual JEB Stuart Art Show opened in pandemic style with a Virtual Awards Ceremony on Thursday, September 10.

Artists and community members enjoyed viewing the show virtually and then seeing the award winners. In addition, a video message to the artists from judges P. Buckley Moss and her daughter Becky Ghezzi was an encouragement to continue creating, especially during a challenging time such as this.

Artists from Patrick, Henry, Carroll and Franklin counties in Virginia, and Surry and Stokes counties in North Carolina entered, with 36 participating and 70 pieces on exhibition.

The show is available for viewing in person by making an appointment online or by e-mailing Lisa Martin at martinlm@vt.edu.

The gallery is open on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. by appointment only, and appointments should be made no later than the Thursday before the weekend. Appointments can be made by visiting the website at www.reynoldshomestead.vt.edu. Attendees will be able to vote for the People’s Choice Award when they visit the exhibition.
