Harold Brooks McGuire

Harold Brooks McGuire, 84, of Axton, Va. passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022.  He was born in Axton, Va. March 13, 1932, to George Obie McGuire and Velma Dickinson McGuire.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Iona Mae Jackson McGuire; and brother-in-law Leon Jackson.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie McGuire of Axton; son, Michael McGuire (Theresa) of Ormond Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Allison Wirt, Claire Yarborough (Cody) and Ian McGuire; great grandchildren, Jaxson Wirt and Brooklyn Wilson; sister, Deloris Reynolds (Jacky) sisters-in-law, Dee Jones (Jesse) and Mavis Rigney (Jerry); brother-in-law, Darrel Jackson (Becky).

Mr. McGuire loved his family and friends.  He also loved living and working on his farm.  He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at McKee-Stone Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the McGuire family cemetery and will be officiated by Reverend Gary Shupe.

The family is very appreciative of the care and kindness provided by the staff at Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, N.C.
