Garry Sheldon Dalton, 58, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away October 10, 2020 at his residence. He was born April 13, 1962 to the late George Washington, Dalton, Jr. and Katy Martin Dalton. He had worked as a Caregiver for the last 12-15 years he had also worked for Fieldcrest Cannon for 10 years and Kelvins Building for 10 years. He was of the Christian faith, loved spending time with family, He was a basketball champion for Martinsville High School in 1980 and 1981 and was most valuable player in 1981 he also participated in the Virginia High School League All Star basketball game in 1981; he attended Virginia Union University where he was a two year starter for the basketball team and he is listed in the wall of fame at Virginia Union University and earned a degree in Therapeutic Recreation.

In addition to his Mother; he is survived by sisters, Robin Dalton and Shalita Armstrong (Joe); brothers, Robert “Bobby” Dalton (Jackie), and Cletus “Chip” Dalton; god-son, Robert Dalton, Jr.; nephews, Christian, Nicolas, Dorian, Robert, Jr. and Triston,; nieces, Aysha, Jalaya, Kaitlyn and Princess Bailey; and a great-nephew, Cameron.

Services will be Saturday, October 17, 2020 in the chapel of Wright Funeral Service at 12:30 pm with a visitation for one half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park. Floating visitation will from 3-6 pm Friday, October 16, 2020 in the chapel of Wright Funeral Service with the family being present from 4:30-6 PM.
