The Henry County Sheriff’s Office Drug Interdiction Unit made contact with a suspicious vehicle in the area of Blackberry Road and Stones Dairy Road during a consensual encounter around 6 p.m. on April 9, according to a release.

While speaking with the vehicle’s occupants, deputies identified Christopher Roger Riggs, 29, of 377 Oliver Dr., Bassett. Riggs was found to have an active felony warrant for failure to appear. The underlying charge associated with the warrant was violent felon in possession of a firearm.

Riggs is currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center with no bond on felony charges of fail to appear in court for felony offense, assault on law enforcement, falsely identify self to law enforcement, and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, contempt of court, release of accused on secured or unsecured bond or promise to appear; conditions of release.
