Forever 22 MW, a nonprofit dedicated to educating the public and raising awareness about dating violence, has launched and is planning several events to bring the community together. It also offers a number of resources on its website to educate the public about the signs of dating violence and how to make a safety plan for victims.
As of Sept. 5, Forever 22 MW announced its dedication to helping victims and survivors find a pathway to safety and independence. “Our not-for-profit, non-discriminatory organization offers life-changing services and programs free of charge to anyone who has experienced physical, mental, or sexual abuse.”
Carolyn Mize is the president and founder of the organization. On July 22, 2025, Mize’s daughter, Mandy, “was murdered at the hands of a man that she thought loved her. All along Mandy was living in a domestic violence marriage.”
Her mother, Carolyn Mize, “has made a promise to herself since the passing of her daughter, that she will advocate and raise awareness for all victims and survivors of abuse.”
Forever 22 MW’s purpose is to support and strengthen Virginia’s response to domestic violence through training, public awareness and technical assistance, and to promote social change through the implementation of public policy. The organization maintains a commitment to the empowerment of battered survivors, victims and their children, as well as the elimination of violence wherever it occurs, whether in personal relationships or broader systems.
The launch marks a significant step for Forever 22 MW in raising awareness in communities to reduce and possibly end domestic violence.
“If we can help one person get out of a domestic abuse relationship or situation, we know that we are accomplishing our goals,” said Mize.
Forever 22 MW will host several events throughout the year focused on public awareness of domestic violence. The organization plans to hold an annual fundraiser to benefit programs and resources offered to victims and survivors.
Several events are currently planned, including virtual workshops. The organization also is planning a Shoes On The Ground Walk Against Domestic Violence on Saturday, May 2. The location has not yet been determined.
