Bassett High School students participating in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) program had a successful day at the Virginia State Fair, as they competed in the Agriculture Demonstration areas of Animal Science, placing 6th overall in the senior division, and Hydroponics.
Horticulture Demonstration teams competed in the areas of Landscaping, and placed 2nd overall and winning individual scholarships, and in Floral Design, where they placed 5th overall.
Agriscience Research Poster students competed in the areas of food science, placing 9th overall in the senior division, and in the area of horticulture.
A student competed in the Career Applications of Horticulture contest, and placed 7th overall. (Online source)
