Eller Goldie Johnson, 79, of Spencer, Virginia passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at Northern Regional Hospital, Mt. Airy, North Carolina.  She was born May 10, 1941, in Henry County to the late John William Johnson and America Brown Scales.  She was a member of Mayo Missionary Baptist Church and had worked at Martinsville City Schools as a Cafeteria Worker for over 16 years.  She enjoyed church and bingo.\

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Leroy Johnson, Cornelius Johnson, James Scales, and Harold Scales.

Ms. Johnson is survived by her sons, Jerome Johnson and Melvin Johnson; sisters, Frances Marie Penn and Margaret Reynolds; brother, Ramey Scales (Rachel); grandchildren, DaSean Ramel Brooks, Breanna Elizabeth Wilson, Raven Law, Layla Hairston, Jerel Lane; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020, at 11:00 A. M. at Mayo Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, with Minister Dwight Mack officiating.  There will be a floating visitation Sunday, September 27, 2020, from 2:00 to 5:00 P. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
