Doris Davis Stout, 91, of Martinsville, Va. passed away Monday, January 23, 2023.  She was born July 3, 1931, in East Bend, N.C. to Leo Melvin Davis and Mollie Taylor Davis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, AJ Stout; son, Ricky Stout; brothers, Melvin, Gene and Jerry Davis; great granddaughter, Maddalyn Stout.

She is survived by her sons, Anthony Stout (Karen), Jay Stout (Amy); daughter-in-law, Mona Stout; grandchildren, Kyle Hathaway, Breana Stout, Alivia Stout and Noah Stout; great grandchild, Elijah Davis; sisters-in-law, Darlis Davis and Ann Blackburn; nieces, Carla Sharpe and Fonda Sandwick; nephew, Mike Davis.

Mrs. Stout dearly loved her family and enjoyed cooking on special occasions. She was the core and foundation of her family.   She worked very hard to fill the void after the passing of her husband in 1994.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at McKee Stone funeral home.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Reverend Tim Hunt.  Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem Va.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care, 240 Commonwealth Blvd. West, Suite 602 B, Martinsville, VA 24112

McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville, Va. is serving the family.
