A Danville man was killed and two women were wounded in a shooting early Aug. 1 in Martinsville.
Martinsville police responded to a report of shots fired at 4:16 a.m. in the 400 block of Fayette Street. Officers found D’Sean Jones, 24, of Danville, dead at the scene.
An adult woman was also found at the scene with a gunshot wound. A second woman arrived at SOVAH Health-Martinsville with gunshot wounds around the same time, according to police.
Investigators processed the scene, collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. Fayette Street was closed between High and Peters streets while the investigation was underway.
The shooting remains under investigation.
