County, city to consider items related to reversion in joint meeting Wednesday

Jim Adams, the chairman of the Henry County Board of Supervisors, has called a special meeting on Wednesday, May 26, at 6 p.m.

The joint meeting includes members of Martinsville City Council.

The agenda states the board will consider items related to reversion, including a timeline of the process to date by City Attorney Eric Monday and Martinsville’s outside counsel Stephen Piepgrass of Troutman Pepper as well as County Attorney George Lyle and the county’s outside legal counsel Jeremy Carroll of Guynn Waddell Carroll and Lockaby, PC.

Officials are scheduled to review a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the city and county during the meeting that will be held at New College Institute, 191 Fayette Street, Martinsville.
