Philpott Lake: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philpott Lake is preparing to continue the gradual reopening of USACE recreation areas that were closed due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) precautions. Philpott Lake will begin moving into Phase 2 of our operations on 29 June 2020 with the opening of beaches, and shelters. Playgrounds will remain closed until local guidance allows for them to open. In order to continue this progression we ask our visitors to follow posted signage, as well as any local, state, federal guidelines.

Infinity Acres Ranch: Animal Adventure Summer Camp–All Kids Camp on Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Camp includes animal handling activities, games, crafts and lunch/snack. Ages 8-17. Session is $150 for the week. Contact: (276) 358-2378.

Franklin County Parks & Recreation: Concerts By Canoe at Twin Ridge Recreation Area on Philpott Lake Friday, July 17th 6:30-8:30 p.m. This event is free. The Harwell Grice Band will perform on a floating stage to a floating audience. Bring your canoe, kayak, SUP, tube or float and paddle your way to a front row seat for this one-of-a-kind event. Food truck will be on site at 5 p.m. Music begins at 6:30, arrive early to enjoy a delicious meal and unload your paddle-craft at the venue’s dual launch ramp. Motor boats are asked to use the Salthouse Branch Recreation Area for lake access. Non-motorized boats may use Twin Ridge Recreation Area. Life jackets are required for all watercraft, per DGIF regulations. Tubes and life jackets will be provided free on a first come, first serve basis due to limited supply.
