An 11th grade English teacher was selected as Martinsville City Schools’ overall district Teacher of Year last week.
Aaroa Thomas-Hairston was awarded the distinction. In addition to a bouquet of flowers and a certificate recognizing her honor, she also received a 2023 Kia EV6, courtesy of Autos By Nelson, to drive for part of the school year.
District administrators visited each school to recognize and celebrate each of the Teachers of the Year.
