Marine Cpl. Jonathan Bowling’s sacrifice was remembered this week in Stuart. Danny Turner (left) member of Martinsville City Council, and Robert Fincher (right), Deputy Chief of the Martinsville Police Department, presented a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol to Bowling’s father, Darrell Bowling (center), a retired Master Trooper with the Virginia State Police. Jonathan Bowling, who also was a Martinsville Police Officer, died on January 26, 2005, while serving in Iraq.
