Bassett High School students celebrated their prom by sharing some of their evening via social media posts as restrictions due to COVID-19 continue.

Ashley Minnick, a senior at Bassett High School, selected an umbrella to help shield her from the rain while posing for her prom photos.

Emily McVey and her date donned special Quaran-Prom shirts that were made for them by Emily’s parents, who also held a hibachi dinner in their dining room for the couple.

Monica Hatchett, the director of Communications and Organizational Learning for the Henry County Public Schools, said that while the school division also will hold other virtual events, it hopes “to have in-person graduations at each high school once gathering restrictions have been lifted, because we feel that this ceremony is an important culmination of a student’s education in Henry County.”
