The Center for Rural Virginia announced that Del. Les Adams was appointed to serve on the Center for Rural Virginia Board of Trustees. Adams recently received his appointment to the Board from the Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates.
Adams-R, Pittsylvania, has served in the Virginia House of Delegates since 2014. A resident of Chatham, he represents the state’s 16th House District, which includes parts of the counties of Henry and Pittsylvania, as well as the City of Martinsville.
“We are very excited to have Delegate Adams appointed to this position. He has been critical in bringing the voice of rural Virginians to the legislature, and will help the Center for Rural Virginia build on recent successes,” said Kristie Helmick Proctor, Executive Director of the Center for Rural Virginia. “With deep rural roots, I know Delegate Adams is looking forward to working with other members of the organization to boost prosperity across the rural areas of the Commonwealth.”
Adams said “It is an honor for me to join the Board at the Center for Rural Virginia. As a son of Southside, I am very happy to have this opportunity to better help foster sustained economic growth throughout the parts of the Commonwealth that include our small towns and countryside.”
The Virginia Rural Center is a collaborative partnership of the Center for Rural Virginia and the Council for Rural Virginia, which work together on a joint mission to work with policymakers and stakeholders to create innovative solutions and expand entrepreneurial opportunities to ensure economic prosperity for all regions in the Commonwealth.
