Moms Helping Hands of Southwest Virginia held a Pilates fundraiser at the Spencer-Penn Center, bringing together community members and vendors to raise funds for the organization.
The group focuses on supporting women with children and helping families through difficult times.
“I am incredibly happy with how our event turned out. I’m so thankful for everyone who showed up, the vendors, the class participants, and the volunteers. I was finally able to total everything up this afternoon. Between the 50-50 raffle and the $25 vendor fee we charged, we were able to turn a profit of $522 after deducting what we paid to rent the pavilion,” said President Kayle Martin.
“We are already having discussions about hosting another event in October and hoping to find a more centralized location in Martinsville to maybe have a little better turnout for our vendors,” Martin said.
The group is beginning a new holiday project and hopes to receive grants to help fund it.
