
The Dan River Basin Association (DRBA) and its partners are offering more than a dozen paddle safety classes this summer for beginner and intermediate paddlers.
For the past 24 years, DRBA has worked to promote safe recreation on the region’s waterways. The classes are designed to help participants build confidence and develop essential paddling skills.
Topics include:
• Basic paddle strokes to help prevent injury.
• Understanding weather conditions.
• Blueway navigation.
• Boat types and proper boat fitting.
• Making safe decisions based on skill level and conditions.
