Jaxon Harris, the Henry County student who was struck by a vehicle while exiting a school bus in September, was this year’s grand marshal of the Martinsville-Henry County Christmas Parade.
Though no snow was in the forecast, it fell in abundance on about 12-feet of Martinsville when the Martinsville-Henry County Christmas Parade kicked off celebrations of the holiday season.
In keeping with this year’s “Let it Snow” theme, snow machines were used to add to the wintery atmosphere of the night. Hundreds lined the sidewalks in Uptown Martinsville to watch as floats, trucks, cars, and even horses paraded through the streets, eliciting smiles of delight from those gathered to take part in the festivities.
