David Lee Lynch, 65, of Martinsville, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born October 23, 1954 in Martinsville, to the late Ralph Edwin Lynch, Sr. and the late Melba Hall Lynch.

David proudly served in the United States Air Force, graduated from Mary Washington College, and was a member of Morgan Ford Christian Church. He was an avid reader, loved music and movies, and wrote poetry and short stories. He was a kind and gentle soul. He was a sports fan of UNC Tarheels and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He is survived by sisters, Marie Lynch Murray, Sandra Lynch Hankins, Catherine Lynch Beam, and Carole Lynch Wood; brothers, Ralph Edwin Lynch, Jr. and Freddie Benjamin Lynch; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

There will be a private family gathering at First Baptist Church in Ridgeway with Pastor Lewis Harris officiating. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made in his name to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 1503 Santa Rose Road, Suite 120, Richmond, VA 23229.
