The YMCA invites community members to attend a Public Input Meeting to learn more about the vision for a new, expanded YMCA facility in Martinsville and to share ideas that will help shape its future.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 5, at 6 p.m., located at 708 N. Memorial Blvd., Martinsville. Light refreshments will be provided, and all members of the community are encouraged to attend.
During the meeting, YMCA leadership will present plans for a proposed 60,000-square-foot YMCA, featuring expanded aquatics facilities, a full-size multi-sport gym, wellness and fitness spaces, child watch, an Early Learning Center, and outdoor recreation areas. The session will also provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and offer feedback.
This planning effort is supported by the City of Martinsville through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Planning Grant, which requires public input as a key part of the process.
“The YMCA has always been about serving the needs of our community,” said Brad Kinkema, CEO/Executive Director. “This meeting allows us to listen, learn, and work together to create a space that truly reflects the people we serve. Come see a virtual walkthrough of the new building and see all the amenities it holds.”
Community feedback gathered during this meeting will help guide next steps in the planning process and ensure the proposed facility reflects the needs, interests, and priorities of Martinsville residents. The YMCA is committed to transparency and collaboration throughout this effort and looks forward to continued partnership with the City of Martinsville and community stakeholders as plans progress.
