A dedication ceremony for the Waller’s Ford historical marker, held in honor of Bob Vogler, will take place Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Fieldale Ballpark.
The event is sponsored by the Col. George Waller Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Martinsville-Henry County Virginia 250 American Revolution Committee.
Vogler, a well-loved educator, is recognized on a sign erected in Fieldale bearing the words “in honor of Bob Vogler.”
The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m.
An 18th-century encampment will be open from noon to 5 p.m., weather permitting. The encampment will be staffed by a semiprofessional crew of reenactors and will provide an educational experience for both children and adults.
