New shows are scheduled in the Rives On The Road series — in October and December.

On Saturday, October 25, Hustle Souls with Riggs Roberson will perform at Forest Park Country Club in Martinsville. Doors open at 7 p.m., the show starts at 8 p.m.

Hustle Souls “are a blend of New Orleans funk, Southern soul, and jam-band fire. The Asheville-based quartet has built a reputation for high-energy live shows and irresistible grooves that get the crowd moving,” the website states.

Riggs Roberson, Martinsville’s own, will kick off the show. Robertson’s honest songwriting and raw Americana spirit will warm up the stage and set the tone for a night of unforgettable music.

The New Year’s Eve Bash will be held on Wednesday, December 31, featuring Kendall Street Company with Griffin It too will be held at Forest Park Country Club.

For tickets, visit roosterwalk.com.

In 2016, Rooster Walk Inc., the 501c3 nonprofit company, absorbed a nonprofit named “Arts at the Rives,” and began organizing and promoting concerts at the Rives Theatre in uptown Martinsville. In the fall of 2019, the Rives Theatre tragically caught fire and was a total loss. It has not been rebuilt. To keep the music alive, Rooster Walk Inc., now offers “Rives on the Road” concerts each year. These “pop-up shows” take place in various venues in the Martinsville-Henry County community, and cover a wide range of genres, from rock and blues to bluegrass, country, jazz and more.
