The Martinsville Police Department, along with Jarrett Marketing LLC, congratulated Ofc. Cody Summers for being named Officer of the Quarter, which is voted on by senior members of the department and awarded to an officer who has exhibited hard work and dedication to the department and the community it serves.
Summers has been with the police department for a little over a year and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.
Before joining the police department, Summers served for four years in the US Navy Reserves and for three years with the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. In addition to his normal duties, Summers is also a member of the police department’s Honor Guard and is a certified General Instructor at the Piedmont Regional Criminal Justice Training Academy, as well as a Crisis Intervention Team instructor.
Chopstix Martinsville, McDonald’s (Commonwealth Blvd.), Food Lion (Stanleytown), Livy’s Ice Cream Shop, and Hollywood Cinema provide free meals, and movie passes.
