Paul Shivley was recognized as the 2024 Outstanding Military Veteran for Henry County and the City of Martinsville.
“It was a pleasure to be able to recognize his service and to demonstrate our gratitude for the service of all of our local veterans,” local officials noted.
After the ceremony, county and city officials were among those to attend the unveiling of the Vietnam Veteran Bench at Bassett Historical Center. This bench, along with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, pays tribute to all of our local service members who fought in the conflict.
