Hamburger Steak Dinner, 4 -7 p.m. at Bassett Volunteer Fire Department, 3735 Fairystone Park Hwy., Bassett. Meal includes hamburger steak, fries, baked beans, slaw, roll and a drink for $12 per plate. Eat in, or to-go plates available. All proceeds benefit the fire department.
The Martinsville/Henry County Veterans Service Organization, (M/HC VSO), will be having a Veterans Appreciation Picnic at Jack Dalton Park, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All veterans and their families are invited. Free food, drinks and information on the various local veteran organizations.

A dedication ceremony for the Waller’s Ford historical marker in honor of Bob Vogler will be held at 3 p.m. at the Fieldale Ballpark, sponsored by the Col. George Waller Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Martinsville-Henry County Virginia 250 American Revolution Committee. An 18th-century encampment is set for noon to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

Fieldale United Methodist Church will have its annual fall bazaar from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. The bazaar will feature a silent auction for themed baskets and craft items, homemade baked goods, flea market items such as used furniture, toys, books, household items, Christmas decorations, plants, and, lastly, a hot dog luncheon.
