Authorities on Friday identified the person found in a vehicle on Aug. 1 behind The Scrub Board Laundry.
Authorities said Robert Vincent Hedrick, 50, of 81 Brittany Hill Lane, Axton, was identified as the deceased man.
Officers responded Aug. 1 after the Martinsville – Henry 911 Center received a call around 5:28 p.m. to report an individual was found slumped over in a vehicle that was located at 2038 Rives Road, Martinsville.
Upon arrival deputies located a deceased individual inside of a 1999 Honda Odyssey van.
An autopsy was conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia.
Preliminary findings indicated no foul play was involved in the death.
