The Patrick County Sheriff’s Office says they have received several complaints of a new scam targeting our area.
The scam involves individuals reaching out to residents through Facebook messenger, telling them that they have won money for Christmas, according to the sheriff’s office.
They are being told that they must have or should download “Cash app” and then they will receive their money.
